Diving/Snorkeling

Experienced snorkelers will find exploring the reefs on their own to be a rewarding experience. We suggest asking the locals where you rent your boat for their favorite dive spots. Please remember to anchor only in sandy areas and never over a reef to avoid damaging the delicate coral.

One of the best snorkeling spots on the island is a short walk along Long Bay Beach to Bita Bay, where a reef juts out from the shore, providing a safe and convenient snorkeling experience for both beginners and experts alike. You’ll also find excellent snorkeling right off North Pointe Beach, a quick golf cart ride to the north end of the island, where shallow-water reefs await.

Brendal's Dive Center

Brendal’s Dive Center, a member of the PADI Resort Association, is located directly adjacent to the Green Turtle Club Resort & Marina complex and offers all levels of certification and specialty courses, as well as rentals. Brendal’s Dive Center is internationally accredited and received in 2006 the prestigious Bahamas Tourism Cacique Award. For more dive information, visit www.brendal.com.

Lincoln Jones

Famous for his all-day outings to Manjack Cay, Lincoln Jones hosts fantastically fun “reef parties.”  These excursions include a morning of fishing (with all bait and tackle provided) and snorkeling, followed by an elaborate beach cookout featuring your freshly caught fish, lobster (in season), and a refreshing sip of rum punch (or three). While not specifically designed for hardcore anglers, Lincoln’s expeditions are incredibly popular, so be sure to make your reservations as soon as possible.

Sherllin Russell

Sherllin Russell at the Other Shore Club (located on Black Sound) offers exceptional, personally guided fishing, diving, and snorkeling trips. These adventures include lobster diving, beach picnics, and general exploring—all aboard your rental boat (his motto is “Your boat, my time”). If you’d like, he can even cook your catch back at the house or on a secluded beach. You can often find him making fresh conch salad at Pineapple’s most evenings, so be sure to ask for a lesson on how to clean a conch!
